  • “Dorothy Miranda “Dodie” Clark[6] is an English singer-songwriter, author, and YouTuber from Epping, Essex. Clark is known for her piano and ukulele covers, as well as her original songs. She has over 160 videos, over 1.8M subscribers, and over 250 million views on her main channel (as of February 2019).[4] On her side channel, she has 350+ videos, over 900K subscribers, and over 128 million views.”
  • What makes you and your work unique?
    • Her work is very honest and open about mental illness. She is not afraid to discuss how she is feeling and is constantly creating art based around her feelings .
  • Do you have a brand or artist statement?
    • Her artist statement overall would be to make people feel as though as though they belong. And the thoughts they have are normal and common within our generation.
  • Do you have a mission or vision?
    • To keep touring and making music, reaching out to as many people as she can.
  • Do you have career goals laid out for the next 5-10 years?
    • Hopefully produce more Youtube videos and keep writing more music, she wants to release at least 2 new EP’s/ maybe an album. She would would like to tour in even move countries and bigger venues.
  • What do you do and what are you doing?
    • Mainly she is a You-tuber, On youtube she is a singer-song writer, she is always creating new content, at least a video a week. Like stated, before she is a Mental Health enthusiast, she loves to make content exposes her mental health and share her overall feelings.
  • How are you connecting and building audiences and how do you market to them?
    • Like stated before, she is very open with her feelings, she is not afraid to speak about all subjects from her sexuality to her mental. Just being herself is a big way that she connects to people. She tends to market to people her age, this is mainly through people on youtube. She has done various collabs allowing her to gain exposer.
  • What opportunities are you on the lookout for?
    • Opportunities that allow her to be her self and connect to people who would benefit from hearing her music.
  • Did you look at someone else’s career to make a path for your own and if so, what was it? 
    • Many artist in the youtube (and outside) community have inspired Dodie to do work of her own. These artist include Tessa Violet and Orla Gartland (Other youtubers) . They are independent females in the music industry, they are also advocates for mental health and have inspired her to be great.
  • How do you fund your work?
    • Most of her funding comes from where she started, Youtube.
  • How did you initially get funding?
    • She started Youtube when I was younger so her parents helped her get a Camera and mic, and I grew from there.
    • She did have a few part time jobs that helped pay the bills as she grew older.
  • What networks or organizations do you belong to and which ones have helped you the most?
    • She is apart of almost all the networks as of now, but when she was starting out Youtube was her “Go-To”. Youtube allowed her to grew a great Fanbase, which is still very dependable to this Day.
